The Usher Board

The Usher Board of Mount Ephraim is comprised of four teams of Ushers who diligently serve on their scheduled Sunday during the 7:30am and 10:45am worship service. The Board includes The Senior Board–Erin Rhodes, President (males: ages 18 years and older); The Ladies Auxiliary–Frances Dickens, President (ages 21 years and older); The Young Adult–Erika Thompson, President (males/females: ages 18 years and older); and The Youth Board–Karen Williams, Juanita Kizzie and Erika Thompson, Advisors (males/females: ages 5 to 12 years).

As doorkeepers of God’s sanctuary, Ushers are among the first to greet people as they enter the church and among the last to say goodbye as people leave.

This Ministry is one of the most visible and vital of all the ministries at Mount Ephraim. We greet and welcome parishioners and visitors as they enter the church for worship, and escort them to a pew as required. We monitor and keep order, ensuring quietness during scripture reading, communion, and offertory prayers. We also disseminate church bulletins, provide the congregation with tithe and offering envelopes, take up the collection, and arrange for worshippers to participate in the offertory procession, assist in the clean-up after each worship service, collecting excess bulletins and papers left behind on the pews.

In addition, the ministry assists with special services and events at Mount Ephraim and at other church venues when accompanying the Pastor.

Goal
 
Assist the Pastor on becoming the bridge that will lead people from the secular world to a place of quietness and meditation; seek spiritual renewal.
